For the fourth time, the socio-cultural project of the Academy of Fashion "Evenings of Style" was held. This time the theme covered "futuristic chic". Fashion of the future is most easily recognized by the clothes that evoke associations with the appearance of cosmonauts and astronauts, with the colors and materials that are characteristic of space flights and, more specifically, of spaceships, space shuttles, orbital stations moving around the earth satellites and even the visual utopias associated with extraterrestrial civilizations. The cosmic influence, however, does not completely exhaust the content of this so attractive and at the same time respectable futuristic chic. This became clear during another high-class and extravagant party "Evening of Style".
In his opening presentation, Prof. D. Sc. Lubomir Stoykov, Chairman of the Academy of Fashion, pointed out: "The pioneers of the fashion of the future - Pierre Cardin, Andre Courage, Paco Rabanne and a number of other genius designers bet on the strange, the eccentric and the whimsical in fashion - both as glamorous and unknown until now form, and as matter and hitherto unknown raw materials for making clothes such as metal, plastic, rhodoid, lycra, vinyl, PVC, etc. Futuristic chic isn't just about aerodynamic shapes and shiny metallic textiles. The fashion of the future is unthinkable without high-tech design, as well as without that style that is inspired by the world of computers, the Internet and cyberspace. Experimentation and fashion innovation and minimalism are also an important part of futuristic clothing. A very strong new direction in futurism in visual culture is the creation of sustainable and ethical design in the spirit of the circular economy and maximum sparing of the natural environment. Futuristic fashion - this alluring and progressive visual culture, is a unique chance for people to be bold dreamers and dreamy daredevils. The elegance of the future is also the future of elegant fashion - high-tech, daring, fresh and promising!".
In the evening dedicated to futuristic chic, thematic outfits of the "Golden Needle" winners - Teodora Spasova, Radostina Ilieva, Dilyana Mateeva, Axel Hardy and Radoslava Lazarova - were presented. Young designers also took part, who again showed works related to the theme, namely Maria Radoslavova and Plamena Misheva.
The fashion brand "Minoar" (designer Teodora Spasova) started the fashion performance by presenting a women's silhouette from the "Epitom" collection. Radostina Ilieva, designer of "Alegra" fashion house, proposed "Mona" model, in which futurism is found in geometric shapes in the lace and the lower part of the outfit. Dilyana Mateeva - designer of Art Look, bet on the vision "Future in the past", which is inspired by the red telephone booths typical of England, which remind us of the past, but will also be carried into the future.
Maria Radoslavova - designer of Mia Atelier, presented handmade bags made of natural leather in combination with a waist belt combined with chain and leather handles. The fashion brand "Papena" (designer Plamena Misheva) presented two outfits - one designed for the fair sex, and the other for men.
Designer Axel Hardy also presented two outfits, the first consisting of several pieces - an oversized coat in a futuristic design with a changing silhouette. The second outfit is a voluminous vest in a futuristic style made of embossed stretch fabric. Radoslava Lazarova, designer of the "Blink" fashion brand, showed that it is not by chance that she is the winner of the Golden Needle in the "Best Designer" category for 2021. Her outfit was presented by Veronika Stefanova - Miss Bulgaria World 2017 and face of "Golden Needle 2021". She was dressed in a three-piece set, and the outfit was completed with spectacular glasses of the Bulgarian optical brand "KWIAT".
The host of the event was the charismatic singer and actress Marina Kiskinova, and among the models Veronika Stefanova, Stanimira Yotsova, Kaya Tsenkova, as well as the charming singer Lidiya Angelova, who made her debut in this role, stood out.
The executive director of New Boyana Film Studios, Yariv Lerner, was so impressed by the show that he asked Prof. Lubomir Stoykov to introduce him to all the participating designers at the Evening of Style. Mr. Lerner talked to Prof. Stoykov about the possibilities for the Academy of Fashion to assist him in connection with the upcoming concert of 50 Cent in our country and the idea of holding a spectacular fashion show of Bulgarian and foreign designers before it. Professor Lubomir Stoykov assured Yariv Lerner that Bulgarian fashion has great potential and an excellent international reputation, and that the Academy of Fashion will do what is necessary to see this during the large-scale event planned for the month of October.
The event took place with the support of "Balkantel" and was honored by a number of prominent Bulgarian and foreign representatives of public life, culture, art, the artistic world, diplomacy and business, among them Yariv Lerner, Desi Bakardjieva, Hristo Durchev, Maxim Behar, Prof. Dr. Efrem Efremov, Assoc.
