Boiko Iliev, director of "New Theater" - National Palace of Culture together with the actors Yoanna Boukovska-Davidova and Lubomir Kovachev presented the current theater projects. In the Night of Theaters in Sofia on November 17th, the show will be played with up-to-date and strong messages - "Antichrist" on the novel by Emilian Stanev with the dramatization and direction of Boiko Iliev. The performance "Poruchik Benc" on the novel by Dimitar Dimov will be presented during a European tour in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. And in the beginning of 2019 will be the Festival of Bulgarian Dramaturgy "January", bearing the name of the play of Yordan Radichkov. This was made clear during a press conference at New Theater on 15 November 2018, which also featured Stefan Plachkov, a representative of "Trio Plachkovi", who showcased the innovative La Comedia performance with elements of silent cinema and circus art. Host of the press conference was Prof. Lubomir Stoykov.
"The performance must have moral messages. This is the condition and the requirement for the performances that are played on the stage of "New Theater" - National Palace of Culture ", noted Boiko Iliev and stressed that it is important what the theater gives to the people by helping them get out of the" moral hurt of life ". He paid special attention to the fact that the Bulgarian authors and the works of the native drama should not come out of the theater and they are the basis of the repertory policy of "New Theater" - the National Palace of Culture.
One of the main goals of the theater is the performance of well-known and successful Bulgarian actors, as well as talented young artists. In this connection, Boiko Iliev presented both premieres of young artists debuting in theater art - the mono spectacle of Ivan Rangelov - "Pasti Ilievi" by Dimo Deshev, which can be seen for the first time on November 15, and the mono spectacle of Kiril Mihov - "Piklioto" 20/18 by Kalin Iliev, scheduled for the beginning of December. "Young people will give a new face to the theater, freshness and livelihood that we need. They do not fit into the context of the Bulgarian theater, which has not changed for the past 30 years, but the young ones will change it. "This is Ivan Yurukov with his mono act " The Chicken that says Ku ".
The actress Yoanna Boukovska-Davidova, who plays the lead role in the performance "Poruchik Benc", where she co-starred with Lubomir Kovachev and Ivaylo Zahariev, said that for a calendar year they have a record of 30 performances in a national tour with very strong public interest and full halls. She announced that the forthcoming tour of the show will take place from 15 January to 15 February 2019 in six cities in Europe - Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Brussels, Amsterdam and Nuremberg. Yoanna Boukovska-Davidova shared in advance that she is preparing an innovative interactive mono spectacle that will be played on the stage of New Theater - NDK and will be a combination of theater and cinema with references to the virtual and added reality.
Lubomir Kovachev, who has been entrusted with the main male roles both in Poruchik Benc and Antichrist, shared some of his thoughts about his characters in the two world classical performances such as the works of Emilian Stanev and Dimitar Dimov. "It is important that the theater that you do has a mission. We cannot change people, but we can make them question themselves - to ask them to ask questions and to help the viewers to develop their imagination. ", Said Lubomir Kovachev, noting that the stage of "New Theater "- National Palace of Culture is "a place where a new look at the theater is created." He compared the Bulgarian and French theatrical school that he graduated, noting that the French theater is not as functional as the Bulgarian theater, but is the theater of speech and the native actors are better because they have a strong internal charge and power.
Stefan Plachkov, the director of the La Comedia show, starring the main male role, announced the new opportunity for the audience to combine each of the performances with a glass of wine and dinner after leaving the hall. He announced that the show will also be played on the eve of the new year on December 31 at 18:00, when viewers can expect pleasant surprises and presents. Stefan Plachkov also said that "Trio Plachkovi" are preparing for a pre-holiday tour in France from December 10th to December 19th.

THE STRONG MESSAGES OF ANTICHRIST
Silviya Todorova
"New Theater - National Palace of Culture" presents the newest spectacle in its program the Day of the People's Leaders and the Night of the Theaters "New Theater - National Palace of Culture" in partnership with Sofia Municipality, Culture Department will celebrate the Day of the People's Leaders on November 1 with the performance "Antichrist" on Emilian Stanev's eponymous novel. This is the newest performance in the theater program and can also be seen on the 17th of November during Theater Night in Sofia. The drama and directing of Antichrist are done by Boiko Iliev, and the actors that are acting on the stage: Elena Petrova, Lubomir Kovachev, Niki Sotirov and Veselin Kalanovski.
The show places on the agenda extremely important issues on a common human and social level. Emilian Stanev calls the novel "Antichrist": "An instructive life of the sinner and the lover Theophilus for his soul's martyrdom" and himself says that the purpose of his book is "to show the great spiritual values of our people." The complex historical context in the novel is the end of the 14th century during the reign of Tsar Ivan Alexander and the fall of Tarnovo when, in the words of the author, "the spiritual paths of the Bulgarian who he wants to trace" were "crossed". "Emilian Stanev is referring to an epoch, which, unfortunately, seems to be repeating itself and therefore going on to make this unique text, I try to react to what happens to ourselves in our country and Europe," says director Boiko Iliev and adds: "The Antichrist is inside and outside us. The battle is between good and evil, between instincts and instincts in us. "
How do actors perceive and experience the dramatic text and their images? What are the messages of the show according to them? Here's their look:
Elena Petrova: "The power of the performance is how an innocent person turns into a beast, in antichrist thanks to his collision with people. It also corresponds to our lives, because no one is born with the bad in itself, with mistrust and arrogance, but builds up as a result of what is happening to him. In my heroine, Armageddon, everything that represents the woman - mother, partner, temptress and harlot - is embodied - the woman who can raise but also destroy the man. For me, the strongest message of the spectacle is that if we do not save our faith as men and do not get our own good out, humankind will be filled with power-lovers, slaves and antichrists and will go to their destruction. Some of the strong points in the text, I think, are: "A great sin is required to perceive the Lord"; "If you draw out the eye of him who has taken out your eye, you will not receive it."; "Only with the renewed faith in ourselves we have the chance to save ourselves as men." "
Lubomir Kovachev: "I like the fact that Teofil, who I play, is a bright Renaissance image that passes through three ages and multiple philosophical incarnations. For me, the novel is trying to show that there is something beyond the faith that is connected with human will, with the human spirit and with the simple view of good and bad, of right and wrong, of importance and of little importance; something that saves the individual and the peoples and gives them freedom and perspective. Enyo's image is reprehensible. From small he asks questions. The path that Enyo goes through is from a confused young man, the monstrous monk Teofil, against the secular and spiritual order, through the unbelieving Enyo, and then through his lost freedom and physical beauty - a heretic. Yet, in the end, he becomes a free man in which there is determination, action and will. "For me, what Enio confesses is similar to the words of Nikos Kazantzakis of Asceka:" God is not a noun. He is a verb. God is not just, it happens and it depends on each person whether God will save or fail in his mission, and mankind will fail together with himself. "
Niki Sotirov: "It is a great honor, a chance and a moral responsibility to play Patriarch Evtimii, who is a sacred figure in Bulgarian history. At the last meeting with Father Theophilus, Patriarch Evtimii tells him: "Defeat the Antichrist to exult the faith so that there is world and humanity!". The truths that are said in this dramatic text are extremely topical. It's about humility, charity, and forgiveness. The performance is very emotional. In addition, the scenography is very functional, and the costumes have a modern aesthetics, keeping historiography.
Vesselin Kalanovski: "This is one of the best novels in Bulgarian fiction - deeply philosophical and emotional. In the performance, I envision six different characters (the father, Tsar Ivan Alexander, Father Luke, priest, teacher and judge) who met Enyo and later Theophilus, like his church name. The search for truth and knowledge of God and of the Devil is leading the main character. Through him, Emilian Stanev shows us what we are doing to ourselves, to our own country - the ability of the Bulgarian to ruin, and then to make the destroyed with Sisyphus. "
