CHANEL STILL WITHOUT A SUCCESSOR
When Chanel's headquarters presented their financial results for the past year, Virginie Viard's position at the helm seemed firmly secured. The reviews for her latest 2024 cruise collection far surpassed mere polite applause. So when the news of her stepping down as creative director broke recently, it inevitably raised eyebrows and prompted questions about what is really happening at Chanel. This situation bears a striking resemblance to the departures of Alessandro Michele and Pierpaolo Piccioli.
The French fashion house confirmed Viard's departure, noting that during her tenure she "managed to refresh the brand's codes while respecting Chanel's creative legacy of nearly thirty years." No successor has been named yet, but the brand added that an announcement would be made "in due course." Will Chanel continue the game of "Cherchez la femme"? We await the next chapter!
