* * Prof. Lubomir Stoykov: "The podium of the Golden Needle is a springboard for new creative successes!"
The culminating event in Bulgarian fashion design is approaching - the Annual Golden Needle Awards of the Academy of Fashion, which will be presented at the end of October this year. During a special ceremony at the Ramada Sofia Hotel, the high prize will be awarded to established artists in the categories: "Designer of the Year", "Fashion House of the Year", "Fashion Photographer", "Fashion Makeup" and "Best Young Designer”. The glamorous event will be held in the strictest observance of the restrictive measures in connection with COVID-19.
For more than a quarter of a century, the Academy of Fashion has stimulated the best Bulgarian fashion designers and provided a stage for talented designers and established fashion houses. This year, too, the tradition has been observed and a beautiful gala fashion show will precede the official award ceremony. At the invitation of the Academy of Fashion, designers will take part in it, including some of the winners of the award in recent years. Especially for the VIP guests of the event and the media, they will show their latest collections.
Prof. Lubomir Stoykov, President of the Academy of Fashion, said: “Our informal community of leading lifestyle journalists especially appreciates the participation of fashion designers and brands in the gala fashion show of this so important event for design, art and culture. The catwalk of the Golden Needle often becomes a springboard for new successes of fashion artists and entrepreneurs both on our and on the international fashion scene. I hope that this great tradition will be observed this year as well!”
The gala evening will be opened by the three-time winner of the Golden Needle Sofia Borisova. She will present selected creations from her latest collection Sparkle, in collaboration with the young designer Dorothea Borisova. The "By M" collection of the Wolf Walley brand is inspired by the businesswoman Marinela Arabadjieva, for whom the designer Milena Petrova points out that for her she is "an inexhaustible source of inspiration and striving for perfection".
For the first time in the fashion show of the Academy of Fashion will participate the businesswoman and owner of a fashion brand - Mila Zaharieva. She will present clothes from the collection of La Cara Mi EXCLUSIVE by Mila Zaharieva, which include high quality works created in designer patterns, designed in a comfortable and elegant style. Desislava and Nikola Karadamyanovi - designers of the fashion house "Banderol" will show their latest collection MIRACLES, inspired by the power of human imagination. The messages are intended for both ladies and gentlemen. The winner of the "Golden Needle" for "Fashion Innovation" Axel Hardy will present selected proposals from the VAMP collection, aimed at women who have a strong personality.
The final culmination of the fashion show is assigned to the designer of the fashion brand "Roshavata Garga" and three-time winner of the prestigious "Golden Needle" - Albena Alexandrova. Her collection "Time Travel" is a combination of metaphors and reflections, nostalgia and sentimentality, rebellion and humility.
The face of "Golden Needle 2021" is the Bulgarian top model Veronika Stefanova - Miss Bulgaria World 2017, who recently became a mother for the second time. The host of the spectacular event for another year will be the charming Geri Doncheva. The staging of the fashion show on the occasion of the Annual Awards of the Academy of Fashion is by Boyan Karaivanov. THE NEW SAINT LAURENT COLLECTION IS INSPIRED BY THE SILVER WIND
For the winter of 2021, Anthony Vaccarello took the socially distant show to the next level by presenting his collection for "Saint Laurent" in a magical place full of nature. Titled "Where the Silver Wind Blows", the range was shown through a cinematic film capturing the glamorous vision inspired by the 60's.
"Serious questions push you to take other things less seriously, such as finding balance while standing on the edge - it's a sophisticated gift," the designer said in a statement. Targeting a "girl in the landscape to which she does not belong", the collection is located against the surreal background of a giant waterfall, icebergs and others.
The open view determined the attitude towards the show, which included a metal bodysuit combined with an ensemble of a tweed jacket and a skirt. The glamorous theme continues a series of outfits in a variety of shades, ranging from purple and pink to red and brown. Elsewhere, models walk the runway in leather clothing, including knee-length shorts paired with long boots. Next, the knitted vests stand out, as well as the linings of the blazers and the edges of the skirt.
