LAPIS LAZULI – THE HIDDEN GOAT IN THE OSCAR DE LA RENTA COLLECTION

We've barely entered summer 2024, and we're already sorely tempted by Oscar de la Renta's pre-collection for the next warm season. The designers of the cult American brand make us look a whole year ahead into the future, dream of flowers and expect the violent explosion of colors that they promise us.
Lapis lazuli is the shade that becomes the hidden trump card of the collection. From this highly valued stone in the past, the artists of the 19th century obtained the blue color with which they painted the sea and the sky, and from "Oscar de la Renta" they poured it boldly on the outfits that look like canvases painted by skilled artists.
Part of the color palette is inspired by the tones of abstract paintings by creative director Fernando Garcia. Iridescent colors, structured fabrics, a silhouette with a dropped shoulder or giant ribbons – these are only a small part of the fashion directives imposed by the American brand.
And here we can't help but pay due attention to the floral elements. Orchids appear in different forms - as a print, as an application, as a three-dimensional figure. We cannot fail to note the new technology imposed by the brand – golden metallic organza with printed floral motifs.
We were strongly impressed by the mosaic embroideries, as well as the wool fringes, which introduce the concept of textured knits.
